Love You To

“Love You To” is a song written by George Harrison in 1966 and included on The Beatles’ album Revolver. It was the first song by The Beatles to incorporate classical Indian music, and it featured outside musicians. Ringo Starr was the only other band member to play on the track, contributing tambourine to the final mix.

Woman Don’t You Cry for Me

George Harrison’s “Woman Don’t You Cry for Me” was included on his 1976 solo album Thirty Three & 1/3 and released as an accompanying single. An early take of the song, recorded during sessions for All Things Must Pass, has been released as part of the new compilation Early Takes: Volume 1.

Levon Helm

Levon Helm, founding member, drummer and singer of the legendary southern rock group The Band, has passed away due to complications from cancer at age 71.

George Harrison was a huge fan of The Band, even spending some time with them at their Big Pink studio in Woodstock, NY during his short departure from The Beatles in 1969.

RIP Levon Helm, 1940-2012.

Let It Roll

“Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll)” is a song written by George Harrison and included on his first solo album All Things Must Pass. The song served as a tribute to Frank Crisp, a 19th century lawyer that had been a previous owner of Harrison’s Victorian residence known as Friar Park. It was also included on its namesake compilation album released in 2002.

Happy Birthday Pattie Boyd!

Pattie Boyd was born in England on March 17th, 1944. Pattie, a former model, married George Harrison in 1966. The couple divorced in 1974, and Boyd married George’s best friend Eric Clapton.

George Harrison was born on February 25th, 1943 in Liverpool, England. He sadly passed away on November 29th, 2001 at age 58.

George would have turned 69 years old today. Happy Birthday George Harrison!

Do You Want to Know a Secret?

The Beatles released “Do You Want to Know a Secret” on their first UK LP Please Please Me. The song was released as a single in the U.S. on Vee-Jay Records, reaching #2 on the charts. It was the first top ten song to feature George Harrison as the lead vocalist.

Dhani Harrison, the only son of Beatle George Harrison, is engaged to girlfriend Solveig Karadottir, a former model and psychologist. The couple currently resides in Los Angeles, California, and plan to wed in June.

Dehradun

George Harrison wrote “Dehradun” during The Beatles’ time in Rishikesh and recorded a demo for possible inclusion on The White Album. The song was recorded during the sessions for his first solo album All Things Must Pass, but was not included on the album, and still remains unreleased.
