Death of Brian Epstein

Brian Epstein, longtime manager of The Beatles, died of an overdose of Carbitral, a type of sleeping pill, in his locked bedroom, in August 1967. After an investigation, his death was officially ruled as accidental, and was probably caused by a gradual buildup of Carbitral in his system mixed with alcohol. The Beatles were away studying transcendental meditation with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Wales at the time of Epstein’s death.
