Norwegian Wood

The Beatles released “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)” on the 1965 album Rubber Soul. Mainly written by John Lennon, the lyric describes a specific affair Lennon was having at the time, along with the recent fad of decorating a home with wood paneling. George Harrison added sitar notes to the final version, making it the first song in popular music to feature the exotic Indian instrument.
