Past Masters

Past Masters is a two-volume set of compilation albums by The Beatles released  in 1988. The discs feature tracks not included on the UK studio albums, having only previously been available as singles, b-sides and on EPs. The discs were released alongside The Beatles’ studio albums so that the band’s entire catalogue could be available on CD. Past Masters, along with the other Beatles studio albums, were also re-released in remastered form in 2009 as a 2-disc set.

Red and Blue Albums

The Beatles released 1962-1966 and 1967-1970 – better known as the “Red” and “Blue” greatest hits albums, respectively – in 1973. The compilations were assembled by Beatles’ manager Allen Klein, with approval from the band themselves, to compete with the unofficial bootleg compilation called Alpha Omega that was being sold on TV. The albums have recently been remastered and re-released on CD.
