Candlestick Park

The Beatles played their last ever live concert on August 29th, 2011, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, CA. Following a wave of controversies, the overwhelming mania of their fans and an increased focus on creating new records, the band decided to put an end to their touring career.

Living in the Material World

Martin Scorsese has directed a new documentary film about the life of George Harrison entitled ‘Living in the Material World.’ The new film, which includes unseen footage, rare photos, home movies and interviews with friends, family and former Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, will air as a two-part series on HBO on October 5th and 6th in the U.S.

John Lennon and Elton John

John Lennon released the hit single “Whatever Gets You Through The Night” in 1974. Elton John sang backing vocals and played piano on the track, and he made a bet with Lennon that the song would become a #1 hit. When it did, Lennon had to make good on the wager and he made a live appearance with John at his concert at Madison Square Garden. It was John Lennon’s last live performance.
